The Law Day Committee originally scheduled for April 30, 2020 was canceled due do the pandemic. The annual celebration celebrates our Liberty Bell Award winner and the Law Day Creativity Contest winners. Additionally, the Monroe County Bar Foundation honors and awards multiple scholarships. Following the Ceremony we hold our annual Fairy Tale Trials. Although there was no official Law Day Ceremony or Fairy Tale Trials this year, we were able to celebrate our creativity contest winners as well as our Foundation scholarship winners.
The 2020 Law Day Creativity Contest recipients are:
First Place - Olivia Vroman for her poem "Simple Civic Duty". Ms. Vroman attends Pocono Mountain East High School.
Second Place - Sarah Naughton for her painting depicting women's right to vote. Ms. Naughton attends Pocono Mountain East High School.
Third Place - Maya Yagan for her poem "All Men and Women Created Equal". Ms. Yagan attends Pocono Mountain East High School.

The 38th Annual Law Day Race Judicata scheduled for May 2020 was postponed due to the pandemic. While we had hoped to reschedule for October 2020 after considering the health and welfare of all our supporters the race has been canceled. The tentative date for 2021 is Sunday, May 2nd.
The 2021 Law Day Celebration is scheduled for Thursday, May 27th to be held at the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.
Mock Trials – The Mock Trial Committee is contemplating holding a virtual Mock Trial Invitational in November. If you are a school located in NEPA or in the Lehigh Valley and interested in participating please email us no later than October 15, 2020.
Invitational info: Each year the Mock Trial committee crafts a new and unique case for the students to gain additional competition practice before the statewide competition begins.
The cases are written specifically for the invitational. Should you have questions regarding the Invitational or would like to participate, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

The 2019 Mock Trial Invitational winning team was from Pocono Mountain East High School.
Law Day Ceremony was held on Friday, April 26, 2019, 9:00 am in the Monroe County Courthouse. At that time we honored our 2019 Liberty Bell Award receipent as well as our Creativity Contest award winners.
